Rebranding Van Gils: A Sartorial Swordfight.

And in time… even timelessness sheds it’s skin. Our Founders showed their creative prowess by directing the Van Gils Fall/Winter 2015′ Campaign. By doing so, they have lended a hand in revising one of the oldest amongst Dutch Tailoring Brands.

The setting is staged in one of the Netherlands characteristic landscapes as are known to be used by our Founders, and involves an old Tailor reviewing his life in retrospect. As he dictates his Manifest, two younger men are up to a rather sartorial swordfight. The elegance of fencing mixed with the timelessness of a tailored suit.

Van Gils’s Autumn/Winter collection is based on protection against the elements. Our Founders have conceptualized this into bodily protection in a visual rite de passage to manhood by combining both retrospect; looking back on a passed life, and prospect; a duel towards future manhood in which the protective note in Van Gils’s Autumn/Winter collection is expressed.
